I hope it is true!!!

Just home from work, and gonna post a few quick ones before I head up to bed.

PM expected to call election tomorrow

Prime Minister John Howard is expected to call a November 24 election tomorrow, ending the phoney election campaign today with a 33-page manifesto on his vision for the future.

The government spent today clearing the decks for an election, appointing public servants, ambassadors and expert panels, plus announcing a long-awaited review of awards for soldiers involved in the Vietnam War's Battle of Long Tan more than 40 years ago.

Mr Howard held a short press conference in Sydney at lunchtime to launch "Australia - strong, prosperous and secure" - a wrap-up of the coalition's policies and its five-point plan for the future.

Labor immediately accused Mr Howard of plagiarism, circulating examples of similarities between his document and those of Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, and even Mark Latham, Mr Howard's opponent at the last election.

We can only hope this is true.

I am praying that tomorrow, when I sit down at the computer with my morning cuppa, I will find the election has finally been called.
