Well the latest Age/Nielsen poll is out, and it isn't good news for the Howard Government.
Over all it shows Labor ahead with a 56-44 split on the two party preferred. And on John Howard's performance it shows 44% disapprove. So this means his latest ploy to bring racism back into Federal politics isn't working at this stage.
More bad news for Howard is, the poll shows 43% think it really doesn't matter which party is in when it comes to the economy. Which means, they have just lost their other big card to deal during this election.
So what is Howard going to do? He is running out of time. Later this week he will either have to call the election, or call parliament back for another week. If he does that, it won't look too good to the public.
This week is going to be very interesting indeed!
The Age has the poll results up. If you want to see them, just click the link. It will open directly onto the poll page: Age/Nielsen October Poll Results
